Planning Department Begins 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update

March 22, 2024

The State of Georgia requires all municipal and county governments to update their Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) every five years. The CDP’s update considers changes in growth patterns so the vision for the future of an area is consistent with the area’s needs.

In Atlanta, from early 2024 until mid-2025, a series of public meetings have been planned to provide residents the opportunity to let their views and concerns be heard throughout this process. This update is an excellent opportunity for all Atlanta residents to participate in the future development of the City.

Plan A, the City’s current plan, starts to align various plans and initiatives using Atlanta City Design as a framework.

This framework will help guide city residents and staff in designing a future Atlanta with greater density and diversity while conserving the unique character and scale of our neighborhoods.

All REALTORS® are strongly encouraged to participate in this process. Your expertise and knowledge of our local communities, and neighborhoods will go a long way to ensure Atlanta continues to grow and prosper well into the future.

Please use the tab below for more information about the update, a list of the upcoming public meetings, and how you can get involved.
